This album began before Trump was elected. Touring in Alabama on election day showed us that it was high time we got out of the Portland bubble to tour the beautiful complicated landscape of the south, the middle & other places our hipster backers eschew. The American highways are often praised but really you oughta just move more & watch the trees change to desert and back to trees again. I-80 at the Missouri River shows that in real time. And really, you don’t need a gun.
